Heart For The Harvest: Miracles

Every day we have the opportunity to see miracles. Where I live, I am surrounded by the mountains to the South and the Strait of Juan De Fuca with Canadian Mountains to the North. With Fall in full swing leaves are changing, which is a miracle in and of it self. Transformation is taking place as we move from one season to the next. The same thing can happen with a smile, an encouraging word, a touch, a heart that is distressed can go from being cold and turned off to having hope. We read of miracles in scripture, yet there are reports of miracles happening across the street and around the world.

Matthew 9:1-8 shows us Jesus performing miracles of forgiveness that are linked to the physical healing of a paralyzed man who's legs where give strength to hold him up and walk away a healed man not only physically, but spiritually.

Recently, I had a Life Group meeting that was attended by a handful of individuals from the church I pastor. It was our last meeting as a group before starting a new wave of Life Groups. As we did after each meeting, I would ask for prayer requests and individuals that were comfortable to share would make the request known. One group member stated that he was needing a miracle for his hearing to return even with hearing aids. He continued to share that if it didn't return he would have to not participate in the gatherings anymore because it was getting harder and harder to hear. So, the group prayed and we went our own separate ways. About two weeks later, the individual came back to me to share the night he was prayed over he went home and took out his hearing aids and has not put them back in since. His hearing has come back substantially and he has been able to hear the messages during the gatherings with ease. To God be the glory!

You may be asking why do miracles take place? The answer is, miracles happen to bring glory to God, illustrate his power and to produce and stir faith in the life of believers.

Even if you don't see miracles happen, it is important to know that God is not sitting idle, but He is active. God is still in the miracle working business and calling people to Himself and the church locally and globally is growing. God is active around the world in the lives of people that we don't even know.

May you be encouraged and confident that God is actively working across the street and around the world doing the miraculous and people are being redeemed through Jesus Christ. May we remember that God's "Heart is for the Harvest" and he has called us to partner with him.

What miracle are you waiting and praying for? - OR - Do you have a miracle/transformation story that you would like to share? Leave it in the comments.

The Sacred Quiet: When Silence Speaks

It’s been a while. The pause wasn’t planned, but necessary. Life has a way of ushering us into valleys we never asked to walk through. Over the past few months, my family and I have been navigating one such valley, marked by the sudden passing of someone we dearly loved. It’s the kind of grief that presses pause on everything else. Writing, ministry, even the most basic routines—suddenly all felt heavier, quieter, slower. And in that sacred quiet, I’ve learned something: sometimes, silence is a teacher. Grief has a voice. It speaks in sighs, memories, and unfinished sentences. It also speaks in silence. I used to resist that silence, afraid that stillness might lead to stagnation. But I’ve come to believe silence isn’t the absence of God—it’s often the space where we most clearly hear Him whisper. A Season of Reprieve In our fast-paced world, taking a step back feels counter-cultural. But I’ve come to see that it’s deeply biblical. Jesus often withdrew to lonely places—not just to rest...
