Nourishment and Empowerment: A Midweek Devotional for Nonprofit Hearts

I am thrilled to kick off a brand-new segment, and this one has the power to infuse our lives with purpose and meaning! Every Wednesday, we will hit the pause button and dive into the world of scripture. Together, we'll embark on a journey of reflection and renewal, tailor-made to nourish the hearts of dedicated nonprofit leaders like you.

The journey of connecting with scripture has been nothing short of transformative. I've made it a daily practice, an essential part of my mornings, a source of strength and wisdom to guide me through each day, week, month, and year. As I look back on this beautiful voyage through God's Word, I'm more convinced than ever of its power to uplift and sustain us.

I've realized a vital truth in this fast-paced world where "doing" often takes precedence over "being." Our faith isn't just about striving to conquer the problems and challenges before us; it's about spending quality time with Jesus Himself. It's about letting His presence enrich our lives and inspire us to make a difference.

I've heard it repeated countless times, and it's a message that reverberates deeply within me: Our walk isn't primarily about the obstacles we face. It's about Jesus and me – about cultivating a personal, transformative relationship with Him. In a world that's constantly urging us to act and do more, this segment is a reminder that it's equally important if not more so, to just be.

So why the emphasis on nourishment and empowerment? Because it's the core of our mission and it's Jesus's call to us. He wants to infuse our lives with the nourishment of His love, grace, and wisdom. And with that, He intends to empower us to be agents of change, to create ripples of transformation that reach far beyond ourselves.

But here's the beautiful paradox: to bring about change, we must first tend to our own hearts. It's about recognizing that we need to let God work His wonders within us before we can effectively serve others. It's about giving Him the space to heal, renew, and rejuvenate our hearts so that they can become vessels for His love and transformative power.

So, welcome to this exhilarating journey of faith, reflection, and renewal. As we gather every Wednesday, starting October 25th, to explore scripture and its profound messages, my hope is that you, dear fellow nonprofit leaders, will find moments of inspiration, peace, and empowerment from the scripture. Let's pause, reflect, and embrace the path of nourishment and empowerment together. It's a journey that promises to be filled with excitement, compassion, and unwavering enthusiasm for the profound change we can bring to this world.

Heart for the Harvest: Nurturing Faith, Gratitude, and Growth in Every Season

Photo by Darla Hueske on Unsplash As October comes to a close, ushers in cooler air and the landscape shifts with the colors of autumn, we’re reminded of the beauty and bounty of harvest season. In the Christian journey, having a “Heart for the Harvest” is an invitation to cultivate faith, gratitude, and spiritual growth that can lead to a bountiful life, even amid challenges. Just like a farmer prepares the fields, we’re called to sow, tend, and ultimately reap what God has placed within our reach. This post explores four aspects of preparing for a spiritual harvest: sowing seeds of faith, cultivating gratitude, weeding out negativity, and reaping the rewards of steadfastness. I hope as you read this post you will be encouraged as you continue your faith journey. Sowing Seeds of Faith Before any harvest, there’s the initial step of planting seeds. For us, these are seeds of faith, planted through daily choices, small acts of love, and moments spent with God. Jesus reminds us in the P...
